K3 Birdie

Michael Marx
Hey Guys,

I'm playing in the CQWW contest and just found something alarming.  I was around 28.043 and thought someone was tuning.  When I transmitted I noticed the signal go away and then when finished it slowly came back.  Kind of a slow start that took about 1/2 second to rise up to full volume.  It also started out at a lower frequency and slowly rose up…kind of like a "chirp".  I then realized it was some sort of birdie.  Disconnecting the antenna made no difference.  It's a big one.  It's S 9.  Does anyone else have this?
