Mike Cizek WØVTT had the answer, and I have a responding K3 again. Many THANKS.
However more sleuthing is needed, the ERR PTT is back. We have a new kitty who is very curious, maybe he rearranged a cable? I strongly suggest following Don's one cable at a time troubleshooting
method. In my shack the error was caused when I pushed the paddles out of the way so I could place a notebook computer with the firmware files near the K3. After the update, I got the ERR PTT. Felt pretty dumb when I realized I caused it by pushing the paddles into another object. Is your cat taking a nap on top of the key? hi hi Mark AD5SS ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

You have a stuck PTT.
Pull all plugs except USB, antenna and power. ERR PTT should go away. Now plug cables in one at a time. You should find problem quickly.
