K3: CW delay is used when exiting XMIT mode manually

k7svv
I do not see the need for using the CW delay time when manually exiting xmit
mode when I press the XMIT button.  I would expect the rig to return to
receive mode as soon as the button is pressed.  If I set the CW delay to
zero, the return is instantaneous.  I admit that I only rarely use the
manual XMIT mode but I find it distracting when I do.

I should have mentioned that this happens in CW mode and not SSB mode.

Re: K3: CW delay is used when exiting XMIT mode manually

Alexandr Kobranov
Hi John,
sorry for question (as not on my table yet) - is this delay in any
case of CW mode or only when any kind of QSK is active?
I suppose there is PTT mode for CW also and you are right that in such
case there is no reason for any delay. If you have QSK active, I can
understand that there is delay also with MOX using (without opinion if
this is bug or not - simply understand this :-)).
Can you let me know if delay is also in PTT mode?
thanks
lexa, ok1dst

Hi Lexa,

We had a long thread about CW MOX a while back, and the final statement on the
matter was that there is no delay when used in this way -- on immediately when
you press the switch, off immediately when you release the switch.
