I agree. Having been using my trusty TS-930S for the
past 7 months, I know what good CW audio should sound like.
One of the more striking first impressions of the K3 is the
very clean received and sidetone audio. I always hated my
FT-1000MP's distorted sidetone which made it very difficult
to zero beat by ear (not to mention its awful TX key clicks).
Speaking of key clicks, I did a quick click test last
night with N1EU and Barry said the K3 sounded very clean
using both the 2.7k and 1k filters for CW transmit. Elecraft's
documentation recommends only the 2.7k or 2.8k for CW transmit,
saying that narrower filters would *cause* key clicks, but I
don't understand why this would apply to the 1k filter. At
any rate I'm reverting to the 2.7k until I know more.
