Alan D. Wilcox, W3DVX
Hello,

Here are a few K3 pictures ... http://wilcoxengineering.com/K3sn40.aspx

This is a new page, and there's more to be added.

Cheers,

Ken,
My shield was OK. The white tissue paper was a bit out of character, but
the shield was protected. That was some scratch you show in your photo.
At least it's hidden a bit!

That clearance you mention is close, but nothing contacting the shield.  :)

I'm stuck at the moment waiting for a few parts to come that weren't
packed with the K3.

Thanks for posting them. Did you do some straightening up of the
toroids or were yours just more neatly done than the one we saw the
pictures of a week or so ago?

Re: K3 Construction Photos (Link)

A few of the toroids were shoved over (from pack/ship), and I set those
aright; otherwise I did not do much to line up etc.

But while I'm thinking toroids, I wasn't impressed with the windings
themselves. Instead of evenly-distributed turns, the turns were clumped
up in 2's and 3's, large gaps, more clumps. I'd be embarrassed to build
a kit and wind toroids that looked that pathetic. However, the modules
were aligned and work, so I'm not changing them (ain't broke, ain't fixin').
