K3 Crashed

Ken Chandler
Hi

Thought I would load up the latest beta firmware. Have had  no problems in
the past loading the beta.  However, after an on screen message turn p3 off
the k3 lock-up and have MCU LD on screen.

The k3 would not power down so I switched the supply  off!!!!!

Now I have the TX lamp flashing away and the radio trying to find a port
com8

Any suggestion please!!

Forcing a Firmware Download
If you accidentally load an old or incompatible firmware version and find the K3 unresponsive, do the following: (1) unplug the K3 from the power supply and wait 5 seconds; (2) plug the power supply back in; (3) hold the K3’s switch in; after about 10 seconds, you’ll see the TX LED flash (you’ll also see MCU LD on the LCD); (4) load the correct firmware version.

Worked for me..

Re: K3 Crashed

Ken Chandler
Hi guys

I have it Fixed, it was a polling issue, clicked start, settings, control panel, system, hardware, device manager, click on ports, I'm using com8.... Open com8 by clicking, port settings, re-set bit per second (I set it to 38400) press ok.
I opened elecraft utility, k3 polled correctly, k3 detected the new firmware, clicked on 'send new firmware to k3' loaded correctly.
P3 firmware loaded correctly also.
