K3 DB15 Y cable

I am looking for a source for DB15 Y cables for use with a K3 and KPA500. I
seem to recall a thread sometime back on  this topic and it was mentioned
that not all Y cable have all 15 pins connected.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated

Many common VGA splitters will *NOT* work, as VGA does not use all 15
pins, and some of the pins are often shorted to the shield (i.e.
"grounded").

I answer this a lot so it is in the archives .... however, in addition
to Elecraft h now sell the splitters separately there are two sources
of "known to work" cables:

   www.altex.com Philmore 70-568

When I last checked (when last heard? <G>) Altex and Cables Wholesale
were $5.99 and $3.44 respectively.
