Good question Vic, do we still call it "detection" or is it more appropriately conversion? I thought at one time during all my button pushing on the last year fiddling with the K3 settings, I was sure I remember the LCD display reading DSP OFF but I could never get it to happen again. At the time it did happen I was trying to do something else and did not notice/ pursue that avenue.
As for DSP hiss, digital and analog radios and such, I am sitting here listening to an old Ten Tec Argonaut 515 counting static crashes which I cannot hear on my K3. Yeah, I know, what are my settings on the K3, etc, etc. but still, makes you wonder . . .
