Was in the middle of a 10m QSO tonight, and all of sudden no power. Got
this message on the LCD: E 0400Cd ERR DSE Don't have a manual in front of me, so I'm not able to check at the moment. This is the first time I've come across such an error in the time I've had my K3. I was running about 5 watts. Antenna SWR was 1.2:1. Firmware is 3.10 Any thoughts? I'm going to try to upgrade to 3.11 tonight to see if this happens again. 73, James K3JPS ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

OK, found the manual and it turns out that it was a DSP issue. Strange.
That's never happened before with any firmware prior to 3.10. Anyone come across anything similar? I'm in the process of upgrading to 3.11 and will keep an eye on things to see if it happens again. 73, James K3JPS _____ From: James Sarte [mailto:[hidden email]] Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2009 9:16 PM To: '[hidden email]' Subject: K3: E 0400Cd ERR DSE Was in the middle of a 10m QSO tonight, and all of sudden no power. James,
ERR DSE indicates a DSP firmware problem (no response). Consider also that you could have a corrupt file on your computer. So yes, download a new copy (or the new beta version) and re-load the K3. Be certain to load the DSP Data Tables too. 73, Don W3FPR James Sarte wrote: > Was in the middle of a 10m QSO tonight, and all of sudden no power.
