My K3 has now recovered from en ERR TXG problem. When trying to
transmit, output was close to zero, and I got the error message. It
started happening just after a firmware upgrade, but it turned out to be
a hardware problem on the RF board. The stage after the pre-amplifier,
(Q8/Q9) to be precise. Had to replace the two transistors and one of the
resistors. With a little help from local hams, I was able to fix it
without returning the RF board to Aptos.
I got excellent support from Elecraft, but I do wonder why this
happened. We weren't able to determine the cause, and apparently, it has
happened to others.
