K3 - Erratic FP switches

k6dgw
I'm noticing that many of my front panel switches are sometimes erratic.
A TAP of MODE UP/DWN will sound a beep but not change the mode.
Sometimes it seems like an intended HOLD becomes a TAP.

The K3 is pretty light as radios like it go ... OK, *really* light
compared to some well lighted battleships, poking the switches tends to
make it move.  Possibly, I'm just not actuating the switches hard
enough?  Maybe some of that non-skid mesh cloth under it?

Anyone else seen this?  I find it very hard to believe that multiple
switches on the FP are giving out.

If it beeps, the switch is working.  Something else is going on.

Mine did the same with a "bank" of switches on the front panel refusing to
work. Now they do...I don't know what Murphy was thinking but they all
started to work right BEFORE CQWW phone and they worked the entire contest,
have not seen the issue again!  I was ready to send it in for some updates
and repair at the same time, probably  will do so soon!
