I am considering to buy another K3 Serial # in 6000's ,that the seller says has an error message at power up , "it thinks the sub-receiver is still installed" my understanding it is has no receive , meaning no audio at the speaker. He stated the seller he purchased from removed the sub-receiver board and it went silent after that .I am looking for a knowledgable user that is familiar with installing . removing a sub-receiver board, that can speak to if this is a software/ firmware menu item setting and or a jumper /bypass pcb issues,etc.
I am an certified electronic technician in my day job, I have test equipment and fine pitch soldering stations at my disposal to do the work , just need a comfort level / risk assessment before I would commit to buy, dont want to in the end have to sell one of my K2's to pay for parts to bring this broken K3 back to life.
