[K3] Etymotic Earphone & Headset

W0JFR
Is anyone using Etymotic earphones/headsets with their K3? How do they
work? How do you have the microphone setup (bias?)? Which model do you
recommend? Where did you get the adapter for the 4-conductor stereo plug?
Thanks!

I've owned and loved the Etymotic ER4S for many years. Originally bought
them for professional use, as monitoring headphones when recording live
jazz when I'm in the room with the band.  They also work quite well with
every radio I've tried them with, including the K2 and the K3.

I'm not aware of a model that includes a microphone -- this must be
new.  It should work fine with a K3 -- simply connect the right wires
and turn on the bias.  For TXEQ, I would start by using max cut of the
two or three lowest bands and then asking for signal reports from
someone whose ears you trust.  Have them listen with their IF bandwidth
set wide. You may want to boost the higher bands a bit. or maybe not.
