I am amazed at how the K3 has performed here, having just worked the KP5 DX-expedition 'K5D' on five bands CW, and a sixth QSO on RTTY using the paddle, and all with the only antenna here -- a meager 34'wire strung four feet above the roof. With each QSO attempt, the sub receiver was able to find small openings to place my less-than-average 100-w signal, right between all the big guys. The QRM on top of K5D on 40/cw was often horrible, yet each time the filters performed beyond expectation. The Auto Tuner somehow matched my only antenna, the 34' wire strung above the roof, even on 80-meters, down to 1.1. Likewise on the higher frequencies. The QSK and Split features: pure pleasure. And the cw memories worked perfectly, as did the DVR digital recorder, so the QSO's could be re-played later. In all, the six QSO's took many hours to accomplish, but my other rigs could not have come close to this K3 performance. Thank you, Elecraft.
