Yes, I am finding the same here - AGH !
The Manual notch is fine, however, although there is a slight notching action in Auto it is virtually useless. Some'at wrong with the DSP code... 73 Stewart G3RXQ On Sat, 15 Aug 2009 11:58:50 +0300, Alex Ponomarenko wrote: > After installing last 3.25 beta-version, > in my K3 does not working Notch-Filter in Auto-Mode. > With manual Notch all Ok. Interesting.. Mine seems to be working as it did before. I just tied
it on a few AM stations near 40. Got in the area in LSB got it setup with the carrier in my window hit the button and poof gone. I then found another tone that seemed to be drifting back and forth a little bit and hit the auto notch on that. It seemed to notch it but was following it a bit slowly so it was just off of it every so often but it was updating and keeping things quieter. I also QSYed quickly when the notch was doing its thing and you hear the tone come back for a short bit then you hear the filter slide over and keep the carrier covered up. Are you sure you're in a mode that supports the auto notch? Its not supported in DATA or CW. ~Brett (KC7OTG) On Sat, 2009-08-15 at 10:07 +0100, Stewart wrote: > am finding the same here - AGH ! > > The Manual notch is fine, however, although there is a slight > notching action in Auto it is virtually useless. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
As you say Brett ... Interesting.
I will try it again, and look for any new Menu settings that may have crept in unnoticed. This was on SSB, a mode which I use almost 100% of the time. 73 Stewart G3RXQ On Sat, 15 Aug 2009 02:24:57 -0700, Brett Howard wrote: > Interesting.. Mine seems to be working as it did before. Tried it again using my XG2 as a signal source, and it's working OK.

G'day,
Broken here also. I have a multi tone QRM (digital junk) signal at about 14213kHz and previously auto notch would take them all out in a couple of seconds, now it doesn't touch them. I tried notching an Ethernet signal at 14030kHz in SSB mode and only when it was single signal, BW reduced to 150Hz did it try feebly to do anything. More than one signal and it doesn't bother. Manual notch is OK but as others have suggested, it could be sharper. All this observed on Spectrogram 16. I'll add to the list as well. On WWV in SSB mode Auto notch will not mute/find the tones. Manual mode works fine. Bet it will be fixed in short order!
