K3 Fab Drawings

Brett Howard
Is there a place somewhere that provides the drawings of the Fabs so
that one can look at the schematic and then find the part w/o digging
into the boards?

Things such as this D25 issue.  Once you hear about them roasting with
too much RF in then it makes a person think that it would be a good idea
to have one or two on hand and know where they are... But once you find
a part its somewhat of a pain to go stare searching for them inside the
radio...

I agree!
This product has been around for a while. It is time for an extensive
service manual containing at least PCB stackup and layout with component
placement, *updated* schematic(by now oct 2008) and updated BOM. Further
there should be information available on adjustment of all critical
parameters ( f.ex . quiescent current in power amps, voltage levels ) for
all boards.
Other brands provide this information in their service manuals.
Any proffessional lab should manage the support of the product based on
technical information- not only Elecraft!
