K3 Feature Request

Don Rasmussen
There will be great interest throughout the life of
the K3 product from users about which specific
features or fixes are on the "to be added list", the
relative priority, and when they might become
available. !!!

This was discussed at length among the Field Testers a
week or so back.  As you suggest, the capability will
probably be available via a menu setting since many
people do not want both active at the same time, most
of the time.  If the menu entry doesn't make the
firmware at initial shipments, it will likely be added
with enough customer interest.  That's the great thing
about easily downloadable firmware on the K3.  Now,
the engineers have another problem ... how to
prioritize and implement all the requests!  Trust
me, there are a LOT of "requests" in the queue right
now from the Field Test team.  If this feature shows
up in a Beta release prior to FCS, I'll try to
remember to announce it here.

Ed - W0YK

Once the developers get over the shell-shock, they might want to
setup an application on the web page that lets them, and the users
keep track of it.

It's a common practice in the software biz...and I've been told by
developers it's quite a help.

Back in the hole...waiting.

That's a good idea. I've always been a strong believer in the maxim
that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" (one reason why K2 #392 is
largely unmodded from the original spec - it works fine for me just as
it is) and such a page would let me decide whether I would actually
gain anything from a particular update.

Thanks....Another advantage would be instead of having to search or remember
what was posted in (a, many) email message(s), one could find a topic branch
and all the child entries.

It must be my advanced age/curmudgeon status...but I no longer find it fun to
search required(to the excess power) mailing list archives to find the mod for
the external buggy whip for my K2...it would be so much easier to pull up the
database, look for Retro Mods and click on buggy whips.
