K3 Filters for General Coverage Reception

I'm a mediumwave broadcast band DXer.  The ability to
hear weak foreign station in the middle of our crowded
broadcast band requires using USB and LSB as well as
narrow SSB filters in order to reject strong local
signals.

So the question is:  if I'm tuning from 500 to 1700
kHz with my K3 will I still have access to these modes
and filters or is the firmware going to restrict me to
AM mode and a wider AM filter?

I'm also keen to hear about whether we can select
either sideband with the synchronous detector, asked
by someone else earlier today.

Being (until I got K2 #6065) an AM operator with all
homebrew stuff, I am very keen to know about the AM fidelity.

Besides roofing filters, I an curious what bandwidths are
available for AM reception, could the 15 kHz FM filter be used on AM?
About 6 and 4 kHz filters seem to be the most useful

I also cant wait to see the audio specs, or if there is a line
level audio output.

A sync detector on AM would be great, I never homebrewed
one of those...

Any filter can be used in any mode.

There is -- stereo! You can also connect two speakers and use them for
either mono or stereo (with main/sub RX mapped left/right, or other
binaural effects).
