K3 Firmware Update

Hello, all.  I had a hard drive go down and got a new computer with Windows 8 which is very cool.  However, I am unable to download new firmware to the K3 with the P3 connected and turned on like I was able to do with Windows XP.  Anyone else have this problem?  73, Steve W0SZ

Turn the P3 off while loading.  Others have had the same problem.  Not
sure why.
