I've been exercising the firmware utility (currently 1.0.11.21) for
familiarity while awaiting my shipment and have been receiving error messages for the last three days when attempting to check for new firmware versions. The verbose activity log looks like this: 15:07:26 Opening connection to ftp.elecraft.com 15:07:26 Enter OnHandleCreated m_ftpState 1 15:07:26 OnHandleCreated OpeningSession 15:07:26 InternetConnect completed with error 997: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress. 15:07:26 INTERNET_STATUS_CONNECTING_TO_SERVER 63.249.74.212 15:07:26 Connected to Elecraft server. I checked for new firmware several times with never an error message. This version pops up a message several times saying that newer firmware is available, but I assume that's because I don't yet have my K3 and it doesn't see any firmware. I'm running Win XP SP2 on an Intel board. Dave W5DHM _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. 'Scuse me, but didn't Elecraft set up a special reflector
for K3 users to discuss their problems directly with support. Who on this basic [hidden email] can possibly answer your questions? I mean. other than those who are undergoing debugging and they should be on the K3 reflector anyway. de Joe, aa4nn ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Martin" <[hidden email]> To: "Chuck Catledge" <[hidden email]> Cc: <[hidden email]> Sent: Tuesday, November 27, 2007 3:35 PM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3: Firmware Utility Errors > On Nov 27, 2007 3:23 PM, Chuck Catledge <[hidden email]> wrote: >> I've been exercising the firmware utility (currently 1.0.11.21) for > .... >> >> Anyone know what the problem may be? OTOH, as a reflector subscriber, I am happy to see posts, and answers, to questions such as this. They are often of use to other subscribers which wouldn't happen with a direct Elecraft support email. Also, other users may have the answer which saves Elecraft employees from diverting focus from things only they can do ... such as working off the shipment backlog. What I would like to see less of are the long threads guessing about serial numbers, shipping status, deposits, etc. Probably each of us has our own preferences for what we want to see, and don't want to see, on the reflector. 73, Ed - W0YK _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. What is disturbing to me is guys who do not have a K3 but who are poking around with the firmware loader and posting faults to the reflector for whatever reason is behind their intent. This makes no sense to me. de Joe, aa4nn _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. But there's no separate reflector. There are a hundred or so K3 owners so chances are someone out there can answer a simple K3 question to the benefit of everyone on the reflector. Correct Craig. Discussions should remain on this reflector. The K3Support
email is for customers who have their rigs and may have an assembly question or other issues that need to be addressed.
