Ruben Navarro Huedo-2
Hello:
I want use a FC-4 headset with the k3.
What settings are you using?
MIC.SEL Menu? Do i have to select H or L?
and Bias?

I think it is H and Bias Off.

Is ok?

Thank`s a lot.

Ruben,

MIC.SEL is FP.L (front panel), rP.L (rear panel) and LINE IN. This is for selecting where you plugged the microphone in.

The HC-4 DOES NOT use Bias.

Rubén,

Yes you are correct. High gain and Bias off.

I've been running this since I got my K3 (nearly 2 years ago)and get good
modulation reports. (TX-EQ is all set to 0, so no changes necessary.)

Ruben,

I gave you the setting I use (mic gain Low) with my HC-4 element. You can use either gain setting and it will work.

The low-gain setting will "work" with the Heil mic elements, but you will
have to run your mic gain control up to about max, unless you typically
scream into the microphone. As Tom says, either will work, but the HI
setting works better.

In addition, if you intend to use VOX, the LO setting will not provide
sufficient audio to operate the VOX effectively, in my experience. YMMV.
