K3 is amazing in the IARU CW. I'm copying stations I know I wouldn't
have even heard on the TS-850 thanks to the K3 NB/NR. A wish: I use CWT a lot, like sort of all the time. It would be real nice if, when I left 20 with CWT on to check out 15, and then come back to 20, it was still on. And note to self: Self, when you turn on the manual notch, remember to turn it off :-) 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2008 Cal QSO Party 4-5 Oct 08 - www.cqp.org _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Hi Ron,
Quite so. But the idea is that when coming back to CW from SSB if CWT was active it automatically returns to CWT. That's how mine behaves with 2.10. CWT remains in effect unless I change modes. It's independent of band changes. Personally, I'd like to see mode independent of band changes too, but that's a small irritation for me and, from what I read in the messages, a major requirement for many competitive operators who want to hop between bands, modes and other pre-established setup parameters at the push of a single button. Mine is independent of band, provided the band change does not include a mode change too. But if I go from 20 CW [CWT on] to 15 SSB and then back to 20 CW, CWT is now off. It's only one button tap, so it's not a huge deal. Personally, I'd be happy if CWT was the default anytime you are in CW. Who needs an S-meter scale over S9 anyway? After the IARU, I find a LOT of folks need help getting reasonably close to my frequency though :-) 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2008 Cal QSO Party 4-5 Oct 08 - www.cqp.org > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Fred Jensen" <[hidden email]> > > | A wish: I use CWT a lot, like sort of all the time. I guess we're beating a dead horse, Ron. That's not the way the world
works any more. For example, my car automatically locks and unlocks the doors, turns on/off the lights, adjusts the heat and AC, etc. based on some computer algorithm - instead of letting me choose. I wish they offered an option where you could pay extra money NOT to get those extra "features". Al N1AL On Sat, 2008-07-12 at 16:22, Ron D'Eau Claire wrote: > I agree Mike.
