I noted in an earlier post about the poor sensitivity on my newly installed K144XV module, still trying to figure that one out.
Noted some other odd behaviors I thought I'd run across the list, just to see what folks thought. When in the 2 meter mode: - It is possible to put the Pre and Att on at the same time, does this in HF mode as well, perhaps this has always been that way, does seem odd. - When pressing the ATU TUNE button, it is possible to turn the ATU on - ATU message displays on the LCD, when I press the button again, the word BYPASS displays. When the ATU is displayed, and I attempt to auto tune, I get the message NO ATU on the display. Normal? - Does the PRE amp really work on the 2 meter RX? - When pressing the ANT button, I hear a beep and relay click inside the unit, is this really switching the antenna relay, or is this just an "artifact" from the HF side of things and is actually switching the HF antennas? The message displayed in ANT 3. Normal? Thanks! Cordially, Bruce J. The RX sens on the K144XV is better than -144 dBm, measured as MDS. >Noted some other odd behaviors I thought I'd run across the list, just to see what folks thought. > >When in the 2 meter mode: > >- It is possible to put the Pre and Att on at the same time, does this in HF mode as well, >perhaps this has always been that way, does seem odd. > The K3 always allows either or both to be used. On 2m, using either or both affects only the IF-in signal from the transverter to the K3 (as the next IF). >- When pressing the ATU TUNE button, it is possible to turn the ATU on - ATU message displays on the LCD, >when I press the button again, the word BYPASS displays. This likely is just an indicator to tell the operator that the ATU is not in the path from the K144XV to the ANT3 connector. >- Does the PRE amp really work on the 2 meter RX? Normal? Same thing here. ANT3 is normal. Someone else can probably answer the relay click question. > >Thanks! 73, matt W6NIA K3 #24 > > > > >______________________________________________________________ >Elecraft mailing list >Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft >Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm >Post: mailto:[hidden email] > >This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net >Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
