[K3] [K2] Computerless Remote Control?

Tony Fegan VE3QF
Remote Control:

I am interested in remote controlling my K3 mainly from around the
house at a distance of around 30-50ft. Internet control is also a
consideration. Although not totally ruled out, I would prefer not to use
a computer at the radio end.
At the moment I am leaning towards the RemoteRig from Sweden:
http://www.remoterig.com/
The 1258MkII has a box at each end and was originally designed for
transceivers with remote head capability (e.g. Kenwood TS480). There is
a serial port on each unit for rig control and mono sound is supported
with a low latency. Stereo sound is under consideration for a future
hardware release (probably not upgradeable). A CW keyer is built into
the box at the client end. I would prefere not to have a box at the
client end. A program to replace the box is also under consideration but
unfortunately does not seem to be a priority. I would like to operate
with only a wireless laptop and not have to transport a box and speaker.
Another consideration is the GlenTek: http://www.glentekcorp.com/index.php
This one has a box at the radio end only and software at the client end.
The sound side is more complicated and is either dealt with separately
(Skype etc.) or built in at the radio end and extracted at the client
end using an Internet Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA). This introduces
some latency.
        There may also be ShackBus:

I am not sure whether there are any hardware implimentations of this
protocol available. I don't see any mention of sound. The information
seems old (circa 2001).

Are there any other hardware remote control systems hiding out there?
