K3 K3PR6 AMPS IN-LINE

Tony Scesny

For those of you who may want more gain,  It almost looks like you might
be able to stage these units in-line and be controlled by an external
bank of switches.  I'm already wondering how many might be used and how
much trade-off  of SIG-NOISE might be tolerable.    Just a thought.....

Re: K3 K3PR6 AMPS IN-LINE

Putting more than one Preamp in line is unlikely to be beneficial because the receiver dynamic range will be seriously compromised with very little increase in sensitivity.  That is why the K3 is designed with the very minimum gain before the roofing filters.
