K3/KPA500 power overshoot on band change?

Ron W3ZV
I switched from 20M to 10M during the contest. When I keyed the K3, the power reading went to the end of the scale for the first few elements of my call and then dropped back to 450W. Sort of scary. I had been jumping around the bands all weekend with no problem. Time to due a power calibration, or something else?

I'd try Tx Gain Calibration on the K3.
