The Ten Tec replacement rubber trim rings fit the K3 main VFO knob
perfectly. Just slip it over the knob. http://store.tentec.com/accessories/ They are near the bottom of the page. Available in black, charcoal grey, light blue, dark blue, orange, red, and glow-in-the-dark. Red looks pretty cool on my K3 :-) I wonder if glow-in-the-dark is for Field Day? 73 de K1ESE John ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

If you're lacking for Buzz, and/or you tend to forget when contests start, try setting your K3's ALARM function for the start of EQP. It will even turn the radio on for you. 73, Wayne N6KR --- http://www.elecraft.com ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Great, looking forward to it.
Is it too late to add a multiplier for SWA (simple wire antenna)? From the rules:
Please limit power to 100W maximum. Since I don´t operate at the 100W power level (or lower) does it mean I can´t take part in it? Just let me know and I will not bother. / Jim SM2EKM ------------------- > The Elecraft QSO Party is coming up this Saturday, 14 March. > > http://www.elecraft.com/ > > Click on EQP 2009 on the left. > > Where's the Buzz? That is the rule, 100W max, so if your're QRO and normally up above
400W or so, then you can't enter a log. However, why not try running barefoot this time and see how you like it. You might find it an interesting challenge. ... and that means it is no use trying to work cross pond on 160.

I'd encourage everyone to try to work at a lower power, yes, it puts a bit more emphasis on conditions, and a bit more effort for the prop gods, but when it is all done, holding that qsl card from a Chek, or other Eu country, or Asia, or pretty much anywhere, that states quite simply that the contact was made with under 1 watt from his end, and you know you were using less than 5... makes a lasting impression. One that states proudly, and rightfully so, 250 Milliwatts, is very nice to hold. Two el quad on this end at 40 feet, a 6 el yagi at 60 feet on that end. And it wasn't at the peak of the sunspots either... just the peak of signals of that day. --... ...-- Dale - WC7S in Wy _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live™ Groups: Create an online spot for your favorite groups to meet. http://windowslive.com/online/groups?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_groups_032009 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I don't agree, it is possible to work across the pond on 160m at 5
watts. I havn't done it, but one of my radio colleagues has. I agree with Dale, it's possible to do this with 1w too. 73 de M0XDF, K3 #174 -- If all is not lost, where is it?
