You are 100 percent on the money.

I use a PC Logging program for contests and I have not experienced issues with the buttons, but, my experiences with contesting are few and maybe I just haven't done enough of them to see this happen.

For general use I played with HRD, and again, did not notice anything out of the ordinary.

Thanks for the heads up, I will be "eagle eyed" next time.

Still do not miss my FTdx-9000D one little bit, Hmmm, now it had lotsa buttons and knobs...didn't like them either much, but for the price I paid, well, wasn't about to change them, cheaper to buy a K3 and chat with other stations.
