The consensus to my last enquiry regarding future K2 firmware upgrades was
that K2 development is dead. There will not be anymore K2 firmware upgrades,
and once the MCU is discontinued by the manufacturer, the K2 be discontinued.

I doubt that processor (or its family) is going away any time soon. As
long as there is strong demand for the K2, we will continue
manufacturing it.
