Hi Wayne,
When I'm using my K3 for SSB I mostly use a headset, and I like to have the MON level set so I can hear my own modulation. But I also very often use SPKR+PH=Yes most of the time as I often put down the headphones and walk around the room or do other things (I also mainly use my speakers for CW). But when I don the headset I often forget that the speakers are still on (and MON is above 0), and this causes echo and nasty audio. I would really like an option where MON would be automatically set to 0 if the speakers were enabled. 73, Thomas M0TRN ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
This would be a good option!

*Would that not disallow MON for those that can use it when the external
speaker is in use? I don't own an external speaker by the way so no chance of it happening here..:-) or are you meaning this action would only apply to the K3 internal speaker. I have MON set @4 all the time, headset or desk mic. Gary,
I wouldn't want to disallow it for anybody, I'd just like the option to have MON to 0 for when the speakers (external or internal) were on, perhaps by having two different memories for the MON level, one when speakers are on and another when they are not. 73, Thomas M0TRN On 1 June 2012 04:11, Gary Gregory <[hidden email]> wrote: > *Would that not disallow MON for those that can use it when the external > speaker is in use? >I wouldn't want to disallow it for anybody, I'd just like the option That's an important point. The K3 is now a mature product, so almost every feature request from now on will need to be an OPTION. An OPTION is something that: * Does not affect anyone's existing menu settings * Has to be actively selected by those who do want it * Does not involve anyone who doesn't want it. Please can we add that to the ground-rules for future discussions? -- 73 from Ian GM3SEK http://www.ifwtech.co.uk/g3sek ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
