If you see excess wobble in the Main VFO knob when it's given a spin, there's a possible fix. First, inside the rubber grip -- that's the outer portion of the Main VFO knob that you can pull off for knob adjustment, but only as described in the manual -- inside the grip are two mold assembly spots. They are located 180-degrees from each other, and one of them, or both, may have a slight bulge that had not been cut flush, or otherwise removed during production. The bulge causes the outer portion of the grip to appear as if there's a wobble in the knob. I used an artist's knife to cut them flush. If you order a replacement grip from Elecraft, as I did, you will need to check these two points before installation. While you're at it, check the outer circumference of the rubber grip for evidence of excessive rubber frays. Both of mine had excess, which was removed slowly and carefully with precision scissors. 73 de Mark.
