Is there a Memory/Menu Management Program available for the K3 ?
Something like the one that HB9ZS makes for the Yaesu Radios. Hi Dick,
Try http://www.elecraft.com/K3/FreqMemEdit/K3_Freq_Mem_Editor.htm This program can edit memories on the K3 _and_ on the KX3. 73, matt W6NIA On Thu, 01 May 2014 08:17:11 -0700, you wrote: >Is there a Memory/Menu Management Program available for the K3 ? > >Something like the one that HB9ZS makes for the Yaesu Radios. > >Thanks, Dick, W1KSZ >______________________________________________________________ >Elecraft mailing list >Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft >Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm >Post: mailto:[hidden email] > >This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net >Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html >Message delivered to [hidden email] -- "Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe." -A. So far as I know no one has reverse engineered the protocol for reading and writing the memories and released an independent program for doing so. 73, de Nate, N0NB >> -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds. Elecraft,
Please recompile everything for Debian... :) -- Thanks and 73's, For equipment, and software setups and reviews see: www.nk7z.net for MixW support see; http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mixw/info for Dopplergram information see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/dopplergram/info for MM-SSTV see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MM-SSTV/info On Thu, 2014-05-01 at 19:21 +0200, Martin Kratoska wrote: > +1 > I second all asking Elecraft software available for Linux! > > 73 > Martin, OK1RR > > Dne 1.5.2014 18:49, David Cole napsal(a): > > Would be nice if ALL Elecraft programs were also available in Linux... > > > > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > Message delivered to [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

David> Elecraft, David> Please recompile everything for Debian... :) as a matter of fact, all linux software available on Elecraft website works perfectly well on Debian Wheezy at 64 bits EXCEPT the built-in help for said software, which requires a library which is not available. Not a big deal, since the help system is just html and you can just point your browser to the directory and read it. But, in 2014, it would be nice if said software were compiled natively for 64 bits. That said, I'm happy that at least one vendor acknowledges the existance of linux users. I tend not to buy stuff that tells me which OS I should have to use it. This is in fact a deficiency in Debian. Most of the required libs can be installed in a multi-arch configuration where the 32-bit libraries go into a separate directory from the 64-bit libraries. However the gtkhtml package among others does not yet conform to this standard. The 32-bit libraries therefore cannot coexist on the same system as the 64-bit libraries. On Fedora this problem is not there and you can install compat-gtkhtml314.i686 and the Elecraft utilities will display their help.
There are two possible solutions on Debian systems. The Debian project can fix their libraries or Elecraft can make available a version of their utilities compiled for 64 bits. It may take a long time for debian to correct their libraries so I would suggest Elecraft take the time to compile their utilities for 64 bits as an alternate download. 73, David W4DES On May 1, 2014, at 3:58 PM, Pierfrancesco Caci <[hidden email]> wrote: > > as a matter of fact, all linux software available on Elecraft website > works perfectly well on Debian Wheezy at 64 bits EXCEPT the built-in > help for said software, which requires a library which is not > available. Just for the record... It would have been a show stopper for me if the
K3 software was only Windows... Now that I have had a chance to play with the rig a bit more, I still might have bought it, but I really do thank Elecraft for supporting Debian and the other forms of Linux. -- Thanks and 73's, For equipment, and software setups and reviews see: www.nk7z.net for MixW support see; http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mixw/info for Dopplergram information see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/dopplergram/info for MM-SSTV see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MM-SSTV/info On Thu, 2014-05-01 at 18:06 -0400, David Sanders W4DES wrote: > This is in fact a deficiency in Debian. How could you expect any less from a company located at the edge of Silicon Valley (and with loads of work-at-home Silicon Valley folks in their backyard)? 73, Jim K9YC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

Hi Jim,
it is just surprising to find a company that is actually responsible, has good support folks, sells a really good product, AND supports Linux! :) -- Thanks and 73's, For equipment, and software setups and reviews see: www.nk7z.net for MixW support see; http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mixw/info for Dopplergram information see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/dopplergram/info for MM-SSTV see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MM-SSTV/info On Thu, 2014-05-01 at 15:56 -0700, Jim Brown wrote: > On 5/1/2014 3:17 PM, David Cole wrote: > > It would have been a show stopper for me if the > > K3 software was only Windows...
