The last reflector posted K3 serial number was #31.
Serial number #25 was the latest reported before that. For some reason the serial number page takes the greatest interest (hits) of the entire wiki. Please email me if you have K3 #26 through #30 or maybe there are some later than #31. http://www.zerobeat.net/mediawiki/index.php/K3_Serial_Numbers http://www.zerobeat.net/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page Thanks, Don _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. I guess 8 of them must be on their way to the VP6 Ducie Island packing
depot by now, as all gear is going to be shipped in November according to the VP6 website. The first production run of "special edition" with gold-plated chassis and serial numbers up to 000200 were to have been despatched by the end of July but that didn't happen. I sincerely hope that Ducie Island will have to wait their turn like the rest of us. When all said and done DX-peditions always get RST599 anyway, so it doesn't matter what rig they use ;-) 73 -- David G4DMP Leeds, England, UK ------ _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Well you aren't far off David. My contact "on the inside" says they are
expecting them mid-December. I just got in at the end of the 1st prodn run so just hoping I might get it in time for ARRL 10m Contest! 73 Chris G3SJJ David Pratt wrote: > In a recent message, G3SJJ <[hidden email]> wrote ... >> I guess 8 of them must be on their way to the VP6 Ducie Island >> packing depot by now, as all gear is going to be shipped in November >> according to the VP6 website. >> >> Chris G3SJJ > > Don't you believe it, Chris. I've got no particular place to go. Unlike most I guess, I'm not going contesting or chasing a dxpedition. When I get my K3, I'll just fire it up for a good cw ragchew on 40 meters, probably with someone in the next state. In the meantime, the ol' trusty K2 will keep me company :) 73 John K7FD, K3 s/n ? ---- G3SJJ <[hidden email]> wrote: > Well you aren't far off David. I built my K2 last year, and I am continuing to get to know it better,
and I am consistently impressed with its capabilities. Could you supply a comparison and contrast of the K2 and the IC7000, or just other radios in general? - David Wilburn [hidden email] K4DGW K2 S/N 5982 On Mon, 2007-11-05 at 12:57 -0500, Joe-aa4nn wrote: > > David Pratt wrote: > >> When all said and done DX-peditions always get RST599 anyway, so it > >> doesn't matter what rig they use ;-) > >> 73 > > > > Hank K8DD wrote: > > There is a lot of truth there. It could be crystal filters versus DSP filters, single conversion versus n conversions. I like 500Hz filters in pileups where the K2 gives clean signals and IC7000 gives not so clean. de Joe, aa4nn > > > On Mon, 2007-11-05 at 12:57 -0500, Joe-aa4nn wrote: >> > David Pratt wrote: >> >> When all said and done DX-peditions always get RST599 anyway, so it >> >> doesn't matter what rig they use ;-) >> >> 73 >> > >> > Hank K8DD wrote: >> > There is a lot of truth there. Never been on any of the "biggies" like BS7, but we took a 706 to FP and MD. I don't think that will happen again - and they say the 706 may be better than the 7000.
