K3 NB causes more noise on 160?

Dana Roode
I used a K3 in the NAQP CW this weekend like others on the reflector.
I noticed a lot of noise on my 160 receiving antennas and was
surprised to find that turning the noise blanker off made most of it
go away.  On the other bands NB does not increase the noise but does
significantly on 160.  Anyone else notice this?  The noise is not at
all like what you get when you turn blankers on on other radios and
there are strong signals present, it just sounds like man-made noise.

Dana,

You may want to try playing with the NB settings. I've noticed that I need to be finicky about my selection, regardless of the band. Some settings seem noisier than others, but it is effective when you find the right "notch".

I haven't had to use it much on the Top Band, but the same comments apply.
