I recently loaded beta ver. 2.80 and all seems well -except-
there now appears to be a power output vs. power indicated difference of about 10W on all bands, including 6M. Setting the radio at 100W on the display delivers 110-115 watts output as indicated on two Bird wattmeters that I have confidence in. There are two Birds involved ... one in the 160-10 antenna #1 output and another in the antenna #2 output. Both agree when swapped between the outputs. Readings were taken while transmitting CW key-down into a 50 ohm dummy load. A second load was substituted for confirmation, BTW. I've run the TX calibration routine in the K3 utility program with no change. I recall reading posts abut this issue recently, but no longer have them available. Anyone else observe this difference after loading 2.80? 73! Curious,
I am not running the beta but did the calibration and 5 and 50 watts seem very close, I have seen that I have to turn up the power knob past the indicated 100w to actually get 100 watts out. This is on an array solutions Powermaster. I have not tried it with my LP100. The difference was only about 5 watts.
