K3/P3 interaction?

I'm trying to re-familiarize myself with my P3, which is running with MCU v.
01.09.

With Mkr A and/or B turned on, if I adjust the 'offset' control on my K3
(and RIT/XIT is not ON), VFO B cursor and Mkr B randomly jumps across the P3
screen. If I turn RIT or XIT ON, the P3 VFO B and Mkr B seem to operate
normally (meaning they no longer jump around the screen).

I haven't finished going through the P3 manual yet, but is there some
setting to prevent the random cursor/marker from jumping around the P3
screen?
