I just put my K3 into PSK D mode and adjusted the shift of the filter and it shows the center frequency as * FC 1.01 . Not 1.00 but 1.01! Running f/w 2.38/1.90.

Hi Julian
I don't use the mode myself so hadn't noticed, but I've just tried it and it's the same with 2.46/1.92. 73 Stephen G4SJP On 14/10/2008 20:49, "Julian, G4ILO" <[hidden email]> wrote: > > > I just put my K3 into PSK D mode and adjusted the shift of the filter and it > shows the center frequency as * FC 1.01 . That's correct. It was done intentionally.

If so, fine. But why?

Hello Julian!
>> That's correct. It was done intentionally. >> > If so, fine. But why? The PSK decoder's "sweet spot" is closer to 1010 Hz than it is to 1000 Hz. Your next question is probably," Well, why not move the sweet spot?" The answer to that is quite lengthy. Trust me, doing so is not trivial! Shifting the Tx tone 10 Hz to better match the decoder, on the other hand, is trivial ;-) 73, Lyle KK7P _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
