K3 Power Supply

Phil LaMarche-2
I have a 35 and 70 amp Astron PS for home use.  I want to buy a supply that
is light and nice for taking it on vacations etc.  Any recommendations?

I've been using a MFJ 4125P since October, 2009 with no problems.  It
does have some fan noise that I attenuate by putting it behind my
computer monitor plus I wear headphones most of the time.

After some research I settled on a Samlex SEC 1235M, a 30-ampere metered
supply for $139, $20 less without meters.  It seems quite solid and, so
far as I can tell so far, RF quiet.  There's a good thorough review of
it on the Internet - I've lost the URL but you can Google easily.

Randy Moore
I also choose the Samlex 1235M. The guys at Gigaparts told me that,
unlike other supplies they sell, they had never had a Samlex brought
back. It has served me well.

Alfatronix in UK does make fantastic SPSs. No noise at all, as good as a
linear supply, small and light. I use the 36W version with K3/10W.

The Astron SS-30M is light and works FB.

Just take the top cover off and tighten all the PC board mounting screws.
