K3 - Programming PF keys etc..

My imagination may be taking over again but I could have sworn I've seen
mention here of being able to program the PF keys with macros
constructed of programming instructions from the Programmer's Reference.
I've done searches etc but found nothing so am wondering if anyone here
knows/remembers if it's possible (and how...).

Sort of thing I was thinking of is programming a PF (or M*?) to do a
quick qsy of say 5khz (for sprint contests), or to access the Tune Power
menu and changing it to a specific level for tuning an amp, all with one
key press.

Not a big deal but would be neat to be able to attach little scripts to
these keys - would open up all sorts of possibilities. I was thinking it
would be done via the K3 Utility but that cupboard is bare as far as I
can see. Thanks for any help.

I believe the macros were in rig control programs, like ham radio deluxe.
