K3 - RIT Tuning Rate

k6dgw
OK, I confess up front, I could have gone to the web site and searched
for awhile, but this is easier, and it's late.  While in run mode in the
NAQP that just ended, I kept RIT on since a surprising number of people
have a hard time getting on frequency.  Being a really old guy who can
remember when dirt was young and we had receivers and transmitters in
separate boxes, I sort of thought transceivers were supposed to solve
the zero beat problem, but apparently not.

The tuning rate on my RIT was pretty slow, and it's a small knob [some
folks were a long way off frequency so it took quite a bit of twisting
to get them into the passband where I could copy them].  Sometimes, some
close-in key clicks are good, I wouldn't have known they were there
otherwise :-)

Is there an adjustment in the menus for RIT tuning rate like there is
for the main knob?  I'd like to make it go a little faster.  I'm on the
current beta FW release, and the menus are so enhanced beyond what's in
my book [S/N 642], I'm not even sure what I'm looking at when I scroll
through them.

The K3 RX is unbelievable!  Stuff I can't hear on the TS-850 just pops
up from the noise on my K3.  If you were in the NAQP and worked me,
thanks for the Q.
