A friend brought over his K3 which would not power up. Did a EE INIT and
it came to life, and everything seemed to work OK (very brief look). He wanted me to update the firmware, but the K3 Utility failed to connect fromthe Mac or a Win box. Both connect fine to my K3. Any hints on a troubleshooting routine would be appreciated. 73, Mike NF4L ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

How do you change the AC input power from 120 to 240 on the KPA500 ?
I know the fuse values change and the fuse holder is turned to signify the operating voltage, but does the rotation of the fuse holder to display 240 change connections inside for 240 volt operation? If you wanted to switch from 240 back to 120 operation (for Field Day operation), will it take a power cord that has a standard prong plug and the larger fuses? Is that all? Yes! If you look at the prongs on the back of the fuse-holder, you'll see an asymmetric pattern. Presumably this selects whether two windings in the transformer are connected in series or in parallel. > If you wanted to switch from 240 back to 120 operation (for Field Day > operation), will it take a power cord that has a standard prong plug and the > larger fuses? Is that all? It would appear so ;) 73, ~iain / N6ML ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
