K3 RTTY TX HANG TIME

Is there a way to reduce the how long the K3 seems to take to start/stop
sending RTTY after it keys up.

 

It appears to be very long hang time.

 

People are answering my CQs and my carrier has not even dropped.

The software running on your computer should control this.

If you are using a paddle to send RTTY using the K3 internal FSK
encoder, then send the prosign "IM" (di-di-dah-dah) to immediately end
the transmission.  Put this in your message memories as well.

See the "CW-to"DATA" page in the K3 Owner's Manual for details (page 34
in the current Rev D-5 manual).
