Hi all,
I'm doing RTTY with K3(FSK D) + Micro Keyer II + MixWin 2.19. Everything is working OK ... The only problem I encountered is: the k3 and MixW's waterfall are not displaying the same frequency .... (2210 Hz difference). How can I fix this ? Any help please ? Thanks you, 73, Michel -- FM5CD ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Michel,
See the manual section '"Mark/Shift and Pitch Selection (PITCH)". The tone/shift combination set on the K3 must be compatible with your software. Perhaps someone familiar with MixW can assist you with more detail. 73, Don W3FPR FM5CD wrote: > Hi all, > I'm doing RTTY with K3(FSK D) + Micro Keyer II + MixWin 2.19. Hello Michel,
i had the same problem with MixW. The solution for me was using a different radio in the CAT settings. TS-2000 works perfectly for me. There will be no problem since the K3 is using the Kenwood protocoll. vy 73 de Holger, OE9GHV FM5CD schrieb: > Hi all, > I'm doing RTTY with K3(FSK D) + Micro Keyer II + MixWin 2.19. Hi Michel:
I can help you. I had the same problem. Rich Ferch, VE3KI helped me. Look at your TRCVR PTT/CAT screen in MixW. If must have zero frequency in the FSK center fq box. Even if the box is grey, it must still be zero. To make it zero, uncheck AFSK in place of FSK and change FSK center fq to zero. Then check AFSK in place of FSK. If this does not help you can send me a screen shot of the TRCVR PTT/CAT screen and I will try to help you. If I cannot help you I know that Rich will be able to help. 73, Mike K2MK FM5CD Fri, 22 May 2009 06:12:25 -0700 Hi all, I'm doing RTTY with K3(FSK D) + Micro Keyer II + MixWin 2.19. Bonjour Michel,
I am travelling right now without my radio, so I am going from memory, but here are a couple of things to try: First, the choice of radio type in the PTT & CAT configuration: in older versions of MixW, there is a choice between Elecraft K2 and All Kenwoods. With these versions, I have found that the All Kenwoods setting works better than the Elecraft K2 setting. Data modes work differently on the K3 compared to the K2, but the K3's FSK D mode is very similar to the Kenwood FSK mode. Therefore if you choose All Kenwoods, it should work well for FSK D on the K3. In MixW version 2.19, there is a setting for Elecraft K2,K3, but I do not know how well it supports the K3's FSK D mode. Try both settings to see if this makes any difference. If your K3's pitch in FSK D is set to 2125, I would recommend setting the FSK center fq in MixW to 2210 Hz, i.e. 85 Hz higher than the mark tone. That should give you a tuning indicator labelled FSK with a yellow background, with its two markers on 2125 Hz and 2295 Hz in the waterfall. The frequency on the waterfall at the center of this tuning indicator should be the same as the K3's dial reading, and the frequency in the log window and in the MixW CAT bar should also be the same. If you tune in an RTTY signal so that the two tones are aligned on the two markers on the tuning indicator, the mark tone should be on 2125 Hz audio. You can check this by using the K3's SPOT button to see if the spotting tone matches the received mark tone. 73, Rich VE3KI > Hi all, > I'm doing RTTY with K3(FSK D) + Micro Keyer II + MixWin 2.19.
