K3 Receiver Sensitivity Problem

Jim Garland
Yesterday I discovered a loss of receiver sensitivity of about 30dB in my K3
(s/n 1217). The problem (which shows on the S-meter also) is on all bands
and affects both the main and sub-receivers, and also is present on both
ANT1, ANT2 and the SubRX antenna jacks. It also is independent of the
antenna tuner.  All else seems to work normally, including the transmitter.
I looked at the near-incomprehensible block diagram for the K3, but couldn't
find any obvious points of commonality between the main and sub-receivers
that might indicate where the fault is located. Any suggestions about what
to look for??

Tnx,

Jim W8ZR

I know it sounds silly, but sometimes I've looked for all the the hard stuff but have forgotten to try some of the easy stuff.  I.e., RF Gain knob (both, concentric) and tested with another RX on the same antenna?
