K3 Rx Phase Noise: superior charactistics at 14-MHz vs. 28-MHz?

I recently ordered a high-performance Kuhne TR 144 H +40 2m transverter for use with my K3 in an EME station I am building at my new Glade Park CO QTH.  Kuhne recommended that I run their transverter at 14-MHz in lieu of 28-MHz due to superior K3 rx phase noise at the lower frequency.  True?

Here is what Kuhne said in an email received today: "The Elekraft K3 is compatible to our transverter TR 144 H +40....If you will use the TR 144 H +40 most of the time with the K3 we are recommending to order the TR 144 H +40 with 14 MHz IF.  The phase noise of the K3 is at 14 MHz about 8 dB better than the phase noise at 28 MHz."

If this is indeed true I wonder how the K3 phase noise at 50-MHz stacks up and whether there would be a benefit to use an external 50-to-14-MHz transverter with the K3 in particular for 6m weak signal and EME work (I am also building a 6m EME station here in CO).

(Even though my K3 has the internal 2m transverter option I am purchasing the Kuhne unit to achieve maximum performance on 2m weak signals in particular signals off the moon.  The internal 2m unit will be handy as an IF for microwave transverters when I get around to 13cm and up.)

Of possible interest to VHF-UHFers using K3s as their IF Kuhne makes a lovely transverter switch box - TR 6 SW - which interfaces cleanly with the K3 and even comes with a prewired cable/connector allowing the K3 band-switch to select multiple transverters - Kuhne models or other brands.  This is rather elegant - 1 rig/1 band-switch selecting 160m thru 23cm and higher depending on your xvtrs!  Thank you Elecraft for making the K3 so transverter friendly.
