After working 6 meters in the ARRL VHF QSO Party this weekend, a friend of mine in Louisiana emailed me a receive audio capture, just a couple of minutes, of me running a pileup (something I was able to do for hours at a time, due to fantastic sporadic-E conditions). I guess there's no good reason why I should have been surprised, but I was AMAZED at good it sounded! I was using a Heil ProSet with HC-5, Tx equalization flat, and running about 25 dB of compression with 5 bars of ALC on peaks. He was receiving me at S9+ levels, though I don't know what kind of transceiver he was using. But it sure sounded outstanding. I'm proud to be putting out an SSB signal that sounds this good. Well done, Elecraft.
