Finally decided to sell my Kenwood TS-2000 for a new K3! In less then 2
hours my TS-2000 was sold. Received the K3 yesterday (kit version) and completed it today. Sounds great but still need a mic and will have one tomorrow. KPA3 is working fine.....love the quality of the audio when receiving. Now back to the manual! 73's Michael n2zdb ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
You too? I received my new K3 kit yesterday as well, SN 5780 and built
it today. I was not able to finish it though because I am missing a couple of stand offs for the sub receiver. 73 de na6m On 09/03/2011 10:43 PM, [hidden email] wrote: > Finally decided to sell my Kenwood TS-2000 for a new K3! Well, the same thing happened to me. I built the K3 and later ordered
the KRX3 upgrade. All went well with the subrcvr upgrade til the 7/8" standoffs were missing. To Elecraft's credit the standoffs arrived post haste within 3-4 days. I was not in a big hurry so it was NOT a big concern for me... but it might be for others. For Elecraft: Please consider having both a "standoff" envelope and a "screw and washer" envelope for the base and option packages. This forces the "envelope" fillers and QA to get the right amount of screws and standoffs to the customer for base and option packages. Further, if the standoffs show up all is well even if the screws and washers are short... why? Because I can go to the local hardware store and buy needed screws and/or washers for a few pennies but it is much more difficult for me to find and buy standoffs... thereby the build process is only minorly slowed if I don't have all the screws but it comes to a complete STOP without the standoffs. JMO. Once the KRX3 sub was installed it worked GREAT and I'd hate to operate without it now. Scott KF5MHS On 9/3/2011 10:56 PM, Mark Stennett wrote: > You too? not to beat a dead horse here,
but I also was short those same 2 stand offs a complete show stopper for me maybe the list the parts folks are working from needs to be rewritten? 3 times is not just coincidence perhaps there are a number of already packaged parts in inventory that the shippers are working from perhaps the ones with the standoffs need to *ALL* be recounted and repackaged GB & 73 K5OAI Sam Morgan On 9/4/2011 12:19 AM, Scott wrote: > Well, the same thing happened to me. Obviously my typing is not error free. Please excuse the typos in my reply below. Typing on an iPad screen before my morning coffee certainly does not help. ;-)
Also, I have already received confirmation that we addressed this and checked all of the kits in stock right after the first report of the standoff shortage came in to our support group. 73, Eric www.elecraft.com _..._ On Sep 4, 2011, at 7:45 AM, Eric Swartz WA6HHQ - Elecraft <[hidden email]> wrote: > I've alerted out manufactuung staff and they will be chackng all of the kits here. > > I apologize for the missing standoffs.
