K3 Sideband - Clipping or Compression ?

The K3 FAQ talks about RF clipping being used, but the K3 Owners manual only
mentions Compression. Which technique has been implemented  ?

Stewart,

The K3 implements IF Envelope clipping for SSB.  The controls and LCD are
labeled compression.

Note that with other modes, like AM or FM, RF envelope clipping is not the
correct method to increase talk power.  Compression is a more general term,
and the LCD and controls are labeled accordingly.
