K3: Smart PTT for transverter??

I use my K3 predominantly for 6m and to drive my 2m transverter (not an XV144). I'm having great fun with it but would like to do a 'smart PTT' for the 2m transverter - i.e. only when the Band Up switch has selected the Transverter.

At the moment, with the transverter in standby, and me operating on 6m, everytime I transmit it operates the PTT to the transverter too. Has anyone found a way of using the commands on the ACC connector, so that PTT to the transverter will only be activated when the transverter band has been selected by the K3??

Hi Paul,

I was investigated little bit this (as not fully satified by KEY OUT
functionality). Looking to schematics of KXV board there some levels
like related to TX/RX... Seems to be possible to derive some PTT or
+TX driver from such signals on this board and put some RCA port to
the rear panel (to the cover instaed of fan unit - talking about
K3/10). But this is to be very carefuly tested and now only as idea
(maybe some f/w change of KEY OUT will be faster than this
investigation...).
But basic possibility (and without touching internal signals) is to
use band/trns mapping on 15pin ACC port - simply make transverter PTT
disabled/enabled based on band or trns data on this port.
Or you can use only pin #7 in XVTR ON, hope this is on in XVTR mode
only, not tested!
