I am using a set of small powered speakers with the proper stereo plug into the KIO3 Stereo SPKRS jack. The CONFIG Menu is set for SPKRS to 2 and SPKR+PH to YES. I hear audio out of the speakers (stereo) and the phones at the same time. The AFX function is active and working.
If I change the SPKR+PH to NO, the speaker audio mutes. The phones are OK. If I unplug the phones, should not the external speakers come on again? I swear that was the case earlier, but it is not happening now. I can turn the external speakers volume own and accomplish what I want. Is something amiss? Or was I having a senior moment earlier?
If I disconnect the external speakers, set SPKRS to 1 and SPKR+PH to NO, there is no speaker function (phones OK) until I set SPKR+PH to YES.
What am I doing wrong? Or is it working normal?
BTW, the trusty K3/KPA500 have got me VK9CX and A52VM in the past week. I never have heard a A52 in my over 50 years of hamming. What a thrill! Thank you NR function!
